Molino Naldoni celebrates the great success of “Golden Hour at the Mill”: more than 150 guests discover the journey of the grain

A tour of the mill and a celebration bringing innovation, tradition and a deep connection with the local area to life.

In Faenza, where the Naldoni family has been carrying on the excellence of the milling tradition for more than 320 years, Molino Naldoni opened its doors for the first edition of “Golden Hour at the Mill”, an event that brought together customers, including international guests, partners, institutions and friends of the company. More than 150 people attended the event, offering them the opportunity to discover the production process up close, learn about the family’s history and experience a company deeply rooted in the Romagna region, with an increasingly international outlook.

The focus of the tour was the milling plant inaugurated in 2019, where innovation and technology come together with a centuries-old tradition. The immersive tour allowed guests to follow the different stages of the milling process and discover the value of a supply chain that starts with the land and the grain grown on it.

The relationship with Italian and Romagna-grown wheat is one of Molino Naldoni’s distinctive features. Of the 450 tons of wheat milled every day, 80% is of Italian origin, with approximately 25% of this share coming from Romagna. This commitment is also reflected in the Romagna Wheat Supply Chain project and in the Le Farine del Passatore® brand, a twenty-year initiative through which the company promotes local production and creates a fully traceable link between the field and the finished product.

Guests were welcomed by the entire Naldoni family, including Walter and Alberto Naldoni, respectively President and CEO, together with the new generation, Federico and Francesco, responsible for procurement and production.

“We wanted to open the doors of the mill because we believe that the best way to tell our story is to allow people to see what we do for themselves,” said Alberto Naldoni. “Behind every flour there is wheat, there is a territory, there is daily work and, above all, there are people. Sharing all of this with the customers, partners and professionals who accompany us on our journey was the most important meaning of this day.”

The company’s strong connection with the local area was also highlighted by representatives of the institutions. Massimo Isola, Mayor of Faenza, described Molino Naldoni as “an authentic place built on passion and values”, where “the poetry of the past” meets a strong drive towards “internationalization and innovation”. Niccolò Bosi, member of the Legislative Assembly of the Emilia-Romagna Region, also emphasized the company’s approach to doing business “with heart”.

The visit continued at the Mulino Scodellino in Castel Bolognese, an ancient watermill dating back to the 14th century and a testimony to the rural economy of the area. Restored and brought back into operation also thanks to the commitment of the Naldoni family, the mill represents a tangible connection between past and present, embodied in the motto: “Whoever loses a flavour loses a piece of knowledge.” Guests also visited Ca’ di Sopra in Marzeno, a winery and partner of Molino Naldoni.

The day concluded at La Quattrina, with a rich aperitivo celebrating traditional Italian products and local flavours: pizza, bread, piadina, fresh pasta and pastries, prepared by the skilled hands of Molino Naldoni’s masters of the art of baking: Raffaele Parisi, Federico Stocchi, Enrico Petretti, Natascia Bartoletti, Sebastiano Caridi and Irene Stradaioli.

The gastronomic experience was further enriched by a selection of high-quality products: Ca’ di Sopra wines, Mokador coffee, Nolano tomatoes, Birra Viola beer, Frantoio Valsanterno olive oil, Apicoltura Lombardi honey, Clai cured meats, Moretti ovens and Cerutti Inox equipment — partners in a day celebrating quality, collaboration and the excellence of the local area.

An experience that completes the supply chain: with “Golden Hour at the Mill”, Molino Naldoni’s milling excellence becomes a meeting point for dialogue, connection and a shared vision of the future.
